LCD Soundsystem: Prelisten new song

lcd soundsystem bye bye bayou
1st VERSION October 8, 2009
Good news keep coming in: James Murhpy alias LCD Soundsystem is back on the working track and will release his cover of Alan Vega‘s (singer of Suicide) “Bye Bye Bayou” as single on November 7th in the states (in Germany on the 9th). The brilliant artwork above was made by DFA Records’ own designer Mike Vadino by using a photography from Ruvan Wijesooriya. To make the actual song ready to compete with this, Bob Weston (band and production co.worker of Steve Albini with Shellac and producer of f.i. Sebadoh) was got to put his making hands on the final mix. Listen to a preview of the single here.

And there’s more to come: Refering to his own words on Facebook Murphy’s new and third LCD Soundsystem full length will be put out around March of 2010. Studio work is going on well; just yesterday he was back in his studio in NYC.

UPDATE October 15, 2009
