Melt! Festival 2011

08:24 PM

As already in the year of  2009 and 2010 we presented you the most important and current information directly from the Melt!-Festival. In contrast to the last years the festival returned the his roots. But this wasn’t a reason for the people to stay away. And so the melt! was sold out early ago. Despite of the electronical renaissance with Paul Kalkbrenner, The Koletzkis, DJ Kotze, Boys Noize and many more the headliner were well know Indie-Legeneds: Pulp. This gallery will take you on a short tour through all days and stages at the Melt!.

Clock Opera “White Noise”

Clock Opera are a fresh new London talent, who released their new vinyl single yesterday on PureGroove Records. Today the video to “White Noise” premiered.

It’s simply built up with some various vintage clips but together. So there’s nothing special about it at all but the song is definitely worth a listen (or a hundred of them).

Check Illegal Tender for a very nice introducing interview with the band.

Clock Opera will play tonight around 7.30 pm at the PureGroove record store in West Smithfield beeing part of the great PG Ale Festival.

Pure Groove Ale Festival 2009

If you love really good music and, too (but necessarily), life in London, then you surely already know that the Moorgate Pure Groove record store (and music bar and gallery) is one the hotspots in town and a beloved jack of all trades.

Bands like Amadou Et Mariam, Esser, Friendly Fires, Lykke Li and Mystery Jets – to name only a very few out of the pool of fresh and creative talents – already played one of those fabulous and free instore gigs here. Meanwhile Pure Groove put exclusive release after exclusive release into it’s stock.

It’s simply a paradise for independent music of all styles and genres.

So they couldn’t have had any better idea than to celebrate them and the scene with a one-week instore “Pure Groove Ale Festival” starting today, November 16. Til Friday, November 20, everyday will be a party day with ale and beer from some of the finest local breweries around, some fine food by the Clerkwell Kitchen and various live performances.

Let me just quickly highlight tonight’s tribute show to Arthur Russel hosted by Electric Minds and Lovebox bringing Killer Whale, Faze Action (DJ set), Yam Who (DJ set ) and more to 6 West Smithfield and the Wednesday appearance of Joe Goddard (see above, from Hot Chip) presenting his new solo record “Harvest Festival” (out on Greco-Roman) with some friends and special elements at its launch party. Be there and watch out!

All other events will be great fun as well though. See for the complete line-up below. All shows are open to all ages and – of course – free.
