Melt! Festival 2011

08:24 PM

As already in the year of  2009 and 2010 we presented you the most important and current information directly from the Melt!-Festival. In contrast to the last years the festival returned the his roots. But this wasn’t a reason for the people to stay away. And so the melt! was sold out early ago. Despite of the electronical renaissance with Paul Kalkbrenner, The Koletzkis, DJ Kotze, Boys Noize and many more the headliner were well know Indie-Legeneds: Pulp. This gallery will take you on a short tour through all days and stages at the Melt!.

Crocodiles “Sleep Forever”

Bite: Looks like someone took a wrench to re-adjust the works instead of throwing it into them. At least US rock band Crocodiles does sound a bit different in 2010 than the 2009er Crocodiles did. Their sound has become smoother and stronger in a way, but it’s still as big, dark and drugged as before. Not least, the new song “Sleep Forever” bears witness to this development. The track is anon eponymous for the band’s second album, which is to be released on September 14 via Fat Possum in the States. The 7″ single already arrives on August 17. [via]

If you now want to see the band live (and missed to do so on their recent UK tour in May), we have some bad news for you: Sadly the band has by now only confirmed some US dates, but we’re pretty sure, that some major UK/Europe touring is in plan for later this year.

Oh hej, there’s – once more – another band to have an eye on. Maybe they do sound like a retort of at least the last 40 years of underground music and maybe they do have a bathetic name (compared to pre-band project The Plot To Blow Up The Eifel Tower), BUT  Crocodilessongs have definitely some sharp teeth.

So everyone should watch the self-proclaimed “ponic divas” at least once. We don’t want to hear anyone complaing, he or she would have missed something. And while watching you can count of how many great bands do Crocodiles remind you. Some first suggestions:  Television, Wire, Suicide… *

*Maybe there’s even something totally new in the performance.
