Memory Tapes “Bicycles”

09:00 PM

This one goes out to all zoologists and botanists among us: The new video Memory Tapes‘ “Bicycle” looks like it was made for your guild only. Instead of bikes, we can watch (with several layers) the beautiful flora and fauna of the tropics pass our eyes. Highlight: The likely a bit intoxicated (or intoxicating?) dart-poison frogs in the video’s middle.

The creative mastermind behind this work is once again video blogger and director Jamie Harley of British-French corporation Schmooze, who recently visualised Lonely Galaxy and Memoryhouse. Dayve Hawk alias Memory Tapes was lastly featured by us with his Weird-Tapes-Song “The Walking Dead” quite a while ago, so we have a new piece, his remix of new Crystal Castles track “Suffucation” here for you:

Weird Tapes “The Walking Dead”

01:21 PM

Ex-Hail Social Dayve Hawk seems to be always busy. So busy indeed that he’s working under three different aliases on his own now. The already defunct Weird Tapes, Memory Cassettes and the current and most known Memory Tapesit’s all one and the same guy. While the project name might be variable, the quality stays constantly high, not to say very. Take this piece he did as Weird Tapes called “The Walking Dead” for example. It might not be as frightening as the title suggests and you can barely can’t understand, what Dayve is singing, but it’s pure and shiny, more than five minutes long electronica grandezza.

No wonder that the song now finds itself on the new compilation Thisisnotanexit Manifesto One by the London label of the same title, who release Detachments and The Dark Esquire (check Discodust for later) among others. Download it below and order the whole two CD comp from here.
